Biography

After obtaining a degree in art history, Justine's passion for Byzantine art led her to a job as a wood gilder. By taming these techniques, the artist wanted to reinterpret and modify them, and thus model a symbiosis between material and savoir-faire.

"Gilding on wood has been my job for 13 years. Gilding represents an important part of decoration of objects, apartments and buildings. It enlivens and embellishes, by its richness, the details of the architecture of our monuments and the most beautiful parts of our furnishing. This technique is carried out after many preparations, it's a long process."
